Even though the days are getting shorter and there is a chill in the air, there is still plenty to do in the flower garden. Still some flowers continue to Bloom - I’m looking at you dahlias- and there is plenty to prepare for the new growing year. One of the things to be cracking on with at this time of year is sowing hardy annual seeds. These are specific flower seeds that can tolerate the winter and give you a head start on next year.

Autumn is a great time to start sowing your hardy annuals, for your Spring garden. The Creative Volunteer Team at Bloom have been busy creating this guide to planting your hardy annuals. It is full of tips, tricks, guides and gorgeous illustrations by our amazing team. It also contains some of our favourite varieties to grow in the Bloom garden. You can download your own copy below.

With much love and thanks to Molly Kirk who designed and illustrated this booklet. And to Kat Bevan who contributed to the illustrations and helped capture the beauty of the flowers.

So much hardy work goes into designing and creating things for Bloom and we are so grateful for all the help and support given to us by our amazing volunteers. Without the sharing of these skills and talents, we wouldn’t be able to offer free resources like these. We love you!
